In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful On 17 September 2026, the first literary gathering dedicated to the Persian language and literature was held at the Cultural Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dhaka, on the occasion of commemorating the distinguished Iranian poet Shahriar. The gathering was attended by enthusiasts, scholars, and students of the Persian language. In his address, H.E. Dr. Rahimi Jahanabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh, underscored the pivotal role of culture in fostering relations among nations, as well as the significance of revitalizing the Persian language in further advancing Iran’s relations with the countries of the Indian subcontinent. His Excellency further elaborated on the richness and profound heritage of the Persian language, highlighting the enduring contributions of Persian poets and literary figures across a wide range of intellectual, cultural, and literary fields.
