In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
On September 29, 2026, H.E. Dr. Rahimi Jahanabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh, upon the invitation of the Honorable Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament), Mr. Hafizuddin Ahmed, attended the nomination ceremony for the Bangladeshi candidate vying for a position in one of the committees of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
On the sidelines of the event, the Iranian Ambassador expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude for the visit of the Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament and his accompanying delegation to Iran to attend the funeral ceremony of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
In response, while expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the government, nation, and the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, the Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament characterized his meetings with Iranian officials—including Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and the Minister of Sport and Youth—as invaluable, excellent, and highly effective in fostering bilateral relations. He further expressed hope that the two nations would achieve an even higher level of cooperation compared to the past.
